Nursery is available on Sunday mornings.

We offer many opportunities for children to come to church and learn about the love of God.  Sunday mornings we have Sunday School classes for 3 year olds – 5th grade in the fellowship hall classrooms.  Wednesday nights the children gather in the fellowship hall for where they enjoy snacks, music, a bible lesson, and crafts.

See the children’s page for more information.

Each Sunday morning students from 6th to 12th grade meet in the youth room in the main church building for a bible lesson. On Wednesday nights the students gather again to dig into God’s Word as we look at how to apply it to our lives. There is plenty more happening in the youth ministry so check out our youth page for more information.

This class includes anyone who considers themselves between youth and old age. The class is made up of a group of young adults, older adults, and a few adults “in-between”.  You get to decide which category you fall in. We are a lively group (by that I mean loud) that enjoys our weekly Bible study.  Our group is more than just an hour a week get together on Sunday mornings.  We have gone bowling, boiled crawfish, shucked oysters, beat the youth in softball, lost to the youth in softball, and even went to see a play. We welcome any who would like to join us in our Sunday worship and become part of our fellowship group.  We meet in the fellowship hall classrooms.

Sunshine Ladies

The Sunshine Sisters Sunday School class has a membership of about 22 women and we average 14-15 every Sunday.  We are a class that enjoys being together and wants to see our church grow.  Many of our members are involved in VBS, the choir, and the other committees of the church.

At Christmas, we collect items for gift baskets for people who are home bound, in nursing homes, or sick.  We deliver them and spread some Christmas cheer.  We also have an annual Christmas Breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Hammond and invite all the women in our church for fellowship.

As a class, we study the Bible and have some really good discussions on our Sunday School lessons.  The unit we are in right now is about making Christ the Center of Everything.  It’s important because we as Christians need to know what we believe so that we can stand firm and not be confused.

We welcome anyone who would like to join our Happy Crew!

Senior Adults

Senior adults meet Sunday mornings for Sunday School inside the church sanctuary.  We always have a great time studying the bible.

We have many activities planned throughout the year.  Last year we enjoyed a Luau and many games of Bingo.

Prayer Meetings

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. At Holden Baptist Church we are a body of believers dependent upon prayer. Each Wednesday evening at 7pm the adults meet for prayer time and a Bible study.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our worship times. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Holden Baptist Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  Choir practice is every Sunday evening at 5:00.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. Our church newsletter is also available for downloading.
